Observing human rights and environmental due diligence obligations

In accordance with the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG), companies are under the obligation to observe human rights and environmental due diligence obligations appropriately in their supply chain, with the aim of preventing human rights or environmental risks, minimising them or ending the violation of human rights or environmental obligations.

Compliance with human rights and environmental due diligence obligations in the supply chain has not only been highly relevant for us since the LkSG came into force.

In addition to quality and price, we also respect safety, health and environmental aspects, social standards and fair business practices. To this end, we have used the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for action.

With a company size of <3,000 employees, the legal obligation of the LkSG comes into force for us on 01.01.2024. By then, we will of course have implemented and published all our legal obligations.

Supplier sustainability self-assessment

Only together with our suppliers can we advocate responsible action in the supply chain and make our value chain fit for the future.

In addition to safeguarding human rights and environmental due diligence, we are also reliant on collaboration with our suppliers to achieve our climate goals. Over 90% of THIMM’s CO2e emissions are generated in the upstream supply chain.

With the help of a service provider, we collect and assess all information relating to sustainability. This covers areas such as anti-corruption, environmental protection, human and labour rights, occupational safety, CO2e footprint and conflict minerals.

Based on these data, we create a concrete risk analysis for our suppliers and we jointly develop strategies to achieve our climate goals.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
