As a packaging technology specialist you will produce and test smart packaging concepts based on customer needs and which also protects the products it contains in the best possible way while at the same time conveying an appealing brand message.
Tasks of packaging technology specialists

You will produce packaging and promotional displays on state-of-the-art production facilities up to 120 metres long.

At the corrugator you will make the cardboard that will later become packaging (site-dependent).

You will produce complex packaging made from corrugated cardboard on our further processing die-cutting machines.

You will monitor the quality of the raw paper used and the finished corrugated cardboard packaging in the laboratory

When developing resource-conserving packaging, you will be working with common CAD programs.

You will know what modern packaging materials must deliver and you will choose the appropriate packaging solution for our customers.

You understand the machines and operate them specifically to produce sustainable packaging with a low use of raw materials.

You will be responsible for quality management (QM) and be aware of certification requirements.

Trained packaging technology specialists work in plastics or paper processing companies, for example in production, as packaging developers, in test laboratories and also in printing companies that print on packaging.

How to succeed in your professional career as a packaging technology specialist
Vocational training
We offer the dual training system in which you will learn everything about the planning, production and testing of packaging both within our company and in your vocational college. The training lasts three years and ends with an examination. It is possible to shorten the training by half a year.

For an apprenticeship you must have a good secondary school qualification (Hauptschulabschluss) or, better still, an intermediate school leaving certificate (Mittlere Reife)
